When young children go to day care, they naturally interact with their peers, paving the way for learning effective communication skills. In addition, toddlers begin to learn self-awareness and independence when they attend a toddler care program.
We use a whole-child approach to early education, including teaching young kids essential social and communication skills they can use throughout their lives. Our approach to early childhood education includes:
While learning to speak with others is an important part of the social interaction process youngsters gain when they go to toddler care, understanding nonverbal communication is equally crucial for their social development. Kids begin to understand how to express their emotions positively and how to read others’ emotions through their body language and facial expressions. Understanding these kinds of social interactions will make your toddler a better listener and communicator.
Part of a person’s way to express their emotions, wants, and needs is through verbal communication. Depending on the age of your toddler, they may only express basic words and sentences, and they may feel frustrated if they can’t fully state what they need. At Crème de la Crème of Westerville, we teach your young child baby sign language and American Sign Language so they can communicate basic things like wanting food or water, want more, and had enough.
Our teachers and team members want your child to learn more than basic communication and educational skills. We also want to help your toddler develop character to help them navigate through society. Our team members teach basic eating and utensil etiquette, how to share with others, and how to be polite to each other and adults.
Our teachers make learning fun so that kids will associate education with a pleasurable experience. Our classrooms have educational toys that encourage kids to learn and play at the same time. Because we keep our classroom sizes low, from 12 to 14 students max, and have a teacher-to-student ratio of 1-to-6 or 1-to-7, our teachers can spend time with each child and help them learn at their own unique pace.
While your youngster will begin their educational journey when they attend Crème de la Crème of Westerville’s toddler care program, they’ll also develop essential cognitive skills while enhancing their fine and gross motor skills with classes such as:
We understand the importance of sending your child to a secure day care center, and that’s why we have advanced safety measures in place. We have cameras strategically placed throughout the property and in the classrooms that record video throughout the day. For extra security, anyone entering our facility must use Crème de la Crème’s biometric fingerprint and access code process.
When your child comes to our toddler care program, we provide everything they need for the day. Your tuition includes diapers and pull-ups, diaper creams and wipes, and all linens and naptime bedding. We also give toddlers wholesome table food and milk. Please note that our facility is free from peanuts and tree nuts to help reduce allergic reactions to these foods.
When your youngster spends the day with us at Crème de la Crème of Westerville, you’ll want to stay connected to share in their fun and busy day. When you download our parent connectivity app to your smartphone, you’ll receive updates from our team members about naps, meal times, and diaper changes along with photos of developmental milestones.
We encourage busy toddlers to run, jump, and play on our age-appropriate play structures and playgrounds. Your toddler will also have access to Crème de la Crème of Westerville’s amenities, such as our art room, music studio, and outdoor toddler play area.
We are proud of the commitment our teachers have to their ongoing professional early childhood education training. Our staff goes to in-person training sessions, takes continuing education courses online, and attends our “Lunch and Learn” training series with curriculum updates.
At Crème de la Crème of Westerville, we all want your toddler to feel happy and comfortable when they come to our facility. Not only do we have play structures, toys, and educational resources aimed at a toddler’s age group, we also have a comfortable and child-friendly environment with our Nature’s Garden art area, flowing fountains, and lots of natural light filtering into the classrooms.
