    MEET JAKE GUY, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Meet Jake Guy! He is the Executive Director at Crème de la Crème, bringing 15 years of experience in early childhood education to his role. Jake graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth and Health Development. He began his career as an assistant teacher, progressing to lead teacher, mentor teacher, interim director, and finally, Executive Director. Jake has worked in nonprofit and high-subsidy centers, as well as those designated for university faculty and staff. A quote by John Wooden resonates deeply with him: “Things turn out best for the people who make the best of the way things turn out.” He believes this perspective helps us navigate challenges by controlling what we can and making the best out of what you can’t. Outside of work, Jake enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, exploring new places and cities, playing sports, and cooking.

DarinaMEET DARINA KELLEHER, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Meet Darina Kelleher! Transitioning from her role as Assistant Director at Carolina Park Academy when the center was acquired, Darina now is Director of Operations at Crème de la Crème. Inspired by her mother, a Special Education teacher for 40 years, she has always had a passion for education. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the College of Charleston and worked as a nanny while studying. After having her first child, she taught preschool for three years, an experience that led her to merge her love for children with her professional skills in the role she has now. Darina loves interacting with families, supporting their individual needs, and celebrating children’s growth within the school community. One of Darina’s favorite quotes is from Vincent Van Gogh: “For my part, I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.” This quote resonates with her belief in dreaming big and encouraging children to reach for the stars. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, going on long walks, bike rides, and exploring the beach—building sandcastles, surfing, and kicking around a soccer ball.
