Philadelphia Is Right Across the River

The Delaware River separates New Jersey from its western neighbor, Pennsylvania. But Mount Laurel and Philadelphia are under an hour away from each other (depending on traffic). That means your family is close to some amazing museums, shopping, cultural events, and entertainment without having to travel the two-or-so hours north to Manhattan. 

With a short drive across the river, you can get an original Philly cheesesteak sandwich from one of the many that claim to be the first restaurant to serve them. You’re also minutes away from some of the most historic sites in the country, including the Liberty Bell (no longer in its original tower) and Independence Hall (where the U.S. Constitution was forged). In addition, being so close to Philly means you can also find work in the city and live in Mount Laurel away from all the hustle and bustle. You can take your car or the train on your commute to and from work. You’ll Be Close to the Turnpike

The New Jersey Turnpike runs right along the northwestern part of Mount Laurel, so you can easily hop on and travel practically anywhere in the state in very little time. The turnpike runs through the center of the state, from north to south. That means it shaves off time getting to New York City or other New Jersey cities like Newark and Hackensack. You can also easily hop on the turnpike and take it down near Wilmington, Delaware; into Baltimore, Maryland; and all the way to Washington, D.C.
