Education and teaching tools are always evolving, so it is up to school leaders to decipher what is simply a trend, and what is true innovation. Over the past several years S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) programs have boomed, reaching every level of the education field, from preschool to college. Even more recently, S.T.E.A.M. programs have grown due to the ways in which the Arts have shown to support these harder sciences: Structure, creativity, multi-media, invention and expression.

Our Crème schools have been at the forefront of this new era, integrating S.T.E.A.M. elements into instruction before it was even “a thing.” Our Digital Tech Labs encourage children to explore the world of digital media while also developing digital literacy and fluency (understanding and manipulating digital tools). Our S.T.E.A.M. Laboratory provides opportunities to create, problem solve, and explore abstract concepts. Our Art program allows children to use their senses to create and express their ideas, while building confidence in their ability to be original and independent.  These programs are how we unlock the potential of every child to prepare them for the future.

Parents play an important role in supporting this foundation for higher learning for tomorrow. You may not even know it, but you are introducing concepts of S.T.E.A.M. every day at home! If you take time to explain what is happening in their world, you inspire curiosity that lends to their intrinsic drive to learn. Here are a few tips on how to spark that flame of curiosity at home:

Have fun exploring!!
