The Cozy Peach at Schnepf Farms

Open for reservations from October to May, the Cozy Peach at Schnepf Farms is a unique camping location for your family. Schnepf Farms is a U-Pick farm, where you and your family can pick fresh vegetables to take home. Rather than just purchasing veggies in the farmers market or at the store, your kids can have an immersive experience and learn where their food comes from. In addition, there’s a petting zoo, a ropes course, and a train you can ride. 

When you stay at the Cozy Peach, you rent one of the nine vintage, restored trailers on-site. You’ll have your own private bathroom in the trailer and a cooking area outside. The owners have tried to keep the vintage flair of the campers, adding an element of fun not found at other campgrounds. The kids are sure to love this one-of-a-kind retreat. Please note, however, that not all trailers can accommodate families. Check the maximum capacity before you book.

Monte Vista RV Resort

If an RV resort is what you’re looking for, look no further than Monte Vista RV Resort. You’ll find all the typical amenities of an RV resort, such as full hookups, laundry facilities, a game room, and a pool. There are also some not-so-typical offerings, such as a pickleball court, a library, a ballroom, and a dog park. You can also enjoy tennis, shuffleboard, or the hot tub. And there’s a barbecue and picnic area if you need more space for your meals. 

Nearby, you can visit the Superstition Mountains, Roosevelt Lake, Apache Lake, or the Desert Botanical Garden. You can even enjoy a hot air balloon ride at  2 Fly Us while you stay here. Usery Mountain Regional Park

You can camp in an RV or a tent at Usery Mountain Regional Park. The campground has 73 roomy sites, big enough to accommodate a 45-foot RV. If you’re traveling with your RV, you’ll have electricity, water, and a dump station. The campsite is also outfitted with a picnic table, a fire ring, and a barbecue grill. This campground boasts super-clean bathrooms with hot water, flush toilets, and showers. 

While staying at Usery Mountain Regional Park, you can enjoy hiking, a nature center, and breathtaking views. The most popular spot in the park, the Wind Cave trail, has a lovely alcove where water seeps through rock to create a lush landscape overhead. Kids will be thrilled to get out into nature at Usery Mountain Regional Park.

Lost Dutchman State Park

Nestled in the beautiful Sonoran Desert, Lost Dutchman State Park offers plenty of family recreation, in addition to camping facilities. You can hike, bike, or look for wildlife in the park. A springtime visit will treat you to desert wildflowers, while fall and winter temperatures are mild and great for outdoor exploring. If you visit in the summer, make sure to start your adventures early to avoid the extreme temperatures Arizona is known for. 

The campground at Lost Dutchman State Park has over 130 sites, with 68 offering water and electric hookups for your RV. The rest are great for tents or an RV if you don’t want hookups. There are also cabins for rent with enough room for a family. They also have electricity, heating, and air conditioning, so if you’re not into roughing it, you can enjoy the comforts of home. At Lost Dutchman State Park, your kids can become Junior Rangers, completing activities and earning a badge. Be sure to ask a ranger about this fun program when you arrive.

Pinnacle Farms

Home to a historic orchard, Pinnacle Farms offers tent camping and overnight lodging in its restored campers. You can also bring your RV, though sites are still rather primitive. In this quirky campground, you can experience farm life while walking among the citrus trees or watching the chickens. The tent area is on a grassy flat, and campfires are communal. There are flush toilets and showers, and you can use the site’s cookware and stove so you don’t have to pack your own. 

Nearby, you can enjoy hiking and biking in the South Mountains or relax in the orchards and enjoy the date palms or peach trees. You may also bring along your furry friend, as long as they are leashed and you clean up after them. The campground hosts ask that you plan to arrive during daylight hours, as it can be tricky to find your space and set up after dark.
