Young kids and those who are young at heart will have a blast at Diggerland USA. Located about 10 miles south of Mount Laurel in West Berlin, Diggerland USA is a construction-themed attraction where the whole family can ride, drive, and operate real heavy machinery in a safe and fun environment. The youngest family members can take a ride on the Barrel Train, check out some of the micro diggers, play carnival games, and climb around at the Kids’ Zone playground.

Older family members will also find plenty of rides and games they’ll enjoy. They can navigate their way through a variety of courses behind the wheel of a skid-steer loader, compact tractor, digger, backhoe, or farm tractor. When the weather is warm, the water park side of Diggerland USA is open and offers even more ways to have fun. You can enjoy the interactive features along Digger River, zoom down the Pipeline waterslide, or splash through the Rip Rap Run obstacle course.

Laurel Acres Park

Laurel Acres Park is the centerpiece of the Mount Laurel park system. This sprawling green space has numerous activities for everyone to enjoy. If your family is looking to play some sports, the park is home to eight baseball fields and a sand volleyball court. The nature trail and jogging paths that wind their way around the park are ideal for stretching your legs and enjoying a nice walk. The park also has two tot lots where young children can explore and play.

If you want to make a day of it at the park, bring a lunch to have at one of the picnic pavilions with grills. You can also bring some fishing gear to see what’s biting at the fishing lake. Even the four-legged family members can have some fun when you take them to the dog run. Plus, the fun at Laurel Acres Park doesn’t have to stop when the snow starts to fall. That’s because the park has a sledding hill that provides hours of excitement during the winter.

Sahara Sam’s Oasis Indoor Water Park

Are you looking for a place where the family can splash around no matter what the weather is like outside? Then you need to head 10 miles south of Mount Laurel to Sahara Sam’s Oasis Indoor Water Park in West Berlin. This water park has a combination of indoor and outdoor features, with 58,000 square feet of the 68,000-square-foot facility under a retractable roof. If you’re looking for some fast and twisting fun, take a ride down the five-story-high Tut’s Twisters waterslide.

Other exciting attractions include the 350-foot Nile Mile slide and Flow Rider, which is the state’s only indoor body surf simulator. Little kids will have a blast playing at Lizard Lagoon. This attraction has shallow water and pint-sized slides that are ideal for the youngest family members. For times when you just want to relax and unwind, you can head to the Congo Bongo lazy river, Cleopatra’s Cove leisure pool, or the Grotto, which is a hot tub with the temperature kept at a safe level.

The Funplex

The Funplex is a family fun center in Mount Laurel with an incredible variety of indoor and outdoor attractions. Head over to one of the 16 bowling lanes to see who can get the best score. To help take your game to an entirely new level, the state-of-the-art bowling lanes have LED projected screens, VIP suites, and thrilling music and lights.

Once you’re finished with your bowling game, you can challenge the family to even more fun when you head to the arcade. Here, you’ll find more than 100 of the latest video games. You’ll even discover a few favorites from your childhood, such as Skee-Ball and air hockey. The Funplex also offers a go-kart track, a laser tag course, bumper cars, a miniature golf course, and amusement rides.

Jake’s Place

Jake’s Place is an all-inclusive playground located 8 miles southwest of Mount Laurel in Cherry Hill. This award-winning playground is a place where children and adults of all abilities can play and interact together. The wide ramps and cushioned, synthetic surfaces can easily accommodate wheelchairs and other assistive devices. Kids will have a great time exploring the bridges, balance beams, tactile play areas, swings, climber equipment, and various freestanding play areas. If anyone needs to take a break, you’ll find plenty of seating, shaded areas, and picnic tables around the playground.

Strawbridge Lake Park

Strawbridge Lake Park is a unique park located just 4 miles east of Mount Laurel in Moorestown. The 70-acre park was originally constructed as part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal initiative. During the Great Depression, local residents were hired to construct the lake and park thanks to the New Deal and donations of land. The park got its name to honor the Strawbridge family, who donated the largest parcel of land to create the park.

Today, Strawbridge Lake Park offers plenty of activities your family will enjoy. The lake has opportunities for kayaking and canoeing. You’ll find two boat launch areas that offer easy parking and quick access to the water. If your family enjoys fishing, the lake contains bass and catfish. The park also has a playground that’s complete with an ADA-accessible swing and several picnic tables where you can relax and enjoy a nice lunch. You’ll discover plenty of open space and opportunities for running, walking, and riding a bike.
