Stewart Creek Park

Whether you want to kayak, swim, fish, or simply play sports with the family, you’ll find a wealth of recreational opportunities at Stewart Creek Park. This 65-acre park on the southern shore of Lewisville Lake has facilities for day use and camping if you’d like to spend a few days exploring and enjoying the cooling waters of the lake.

If you don’t have a kayak or paddleboard, you can always rent one on-site if you want to have extra fun on the water. Go fishing, play with your dog, or relax in the shade under the trees when you spend the day at Stewart Creek Park.

After a day playing on the water, stop by any of these family-friendly restaurants in Coppell  to refuel.

Hawaiian Waters The Colony

Everyone in the family will have a blast cooling off after a busy day at Hawaiian Waters The Colony. This seasonal water park is the perfect place for kids of all ages to romp, slide, splash, and play in and on the various attractions throughout this fun family attraction.

Each water feature, whether it’s for young children or teenagers, has an assigned thrill level so each family member can choose how much of a thrill they want. You’ll find everything, from giant water slides to mellow wave pools and everything in between. When the kids get hungry, stop by the snack bar, and don’t forget to visit the gift shop for fun water-related souvenirs.

Jungle Castle

Being inside a fun place like the Jungle Castle  is the perfect way to keep the kiddos entertained when the temperatures climb in the Coppell area. Whether your child is just starting to walk or up to 12 years old, they’ll enjoy the amenities at Jungle Castle, including the multilevel interactive play structure with slides that empty into a ball pit.

Toddlers have their own designated play area, and the bigger kids can have fun on the big tube slide. During the week, you can bring your children in on a walk-in basis, and if you visit on the weekend, don’t forget make a reservation or check the online schedule to make sure Jungle Castle isn’t closed for private birthday parties.

Milwaukee Joe’s

Indulging in a frozen treat is the ultimate way to cool off in the Coppell area. When you head to Milwaukee Joe’s  for an ice cream treat, you’ll find a wide range of flavors, such as black licorice, New York cheesecake, triple chocolate, and cashew raisin medley. Are you craving other types of desserts? If so, you can enjoy goodies such as strawberry cheesecake, cookies and cream cake, or Andes mint chocolate chip cake.

Milwaukee Joe’s is the perfect place to order a custom cake for any special event. Simply pick the size you want, and then the cake, ice cream, and frosting flavors. Then, you can pick up your cake to bring to a birthday party or other event.

Theatre Coppell 

Not only will you stay cool when you see a performance at Theatre Coppell, but you’ll also laugh, cry,  be enthralled, and feel mystified by the range of shows the theatrical team puts on. The kids will get a hoot out of watching Mark Twain’s classic “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” and the whole family will have belly laughs watching Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple.”

Buying tickets to a show at Theatre Coppell is a wonderful way to support your local theater company, from the actors to all the behind-the-scenes staff. This theater company puts on six full shows a year, so check their schedule and make reservations early so you can enjoy the live performances.

Great Wolf Lodge

You’ll step into a world of fun and entertainment when you and your family spend the day or several days at Great Wolf Lodge.
