Gobble Wobble 5K and Fun Run

This year represents the third annual Coppell Gobble Wobble 5K and Fun Run. Organizers host this terrific event each November on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It takes place at Andrew Brown Jr. Community Park East on Parkway Boulevard, and proceeds from this fantastic race benefit local animals service programs. 

The starting gun sounds at 8 a.m. for the in-person race, or your family can opt for the virtual alternative. If you decide to take the latter route, you can complete the 5K any way you like, including:

Fa La La La Lights and Display Contest

December ushers in a variety of outstanding winter holiday experiences to enjoy. To celebrate this joyous season, the City of Coppel hosts its annual Fa La La La Lights and Display Contest. Organizers invite businesses and residents young and old to deck their homes, yards, and storefronts with lights and compete for the best presentation.

This twinkling display and competition is in its second year for 2021, and this occasion should prove to be the best yet. Preregister to show off your family’s holiday spirit, then begin adorning your space with festive decor. Sign up early to be one of the first 100 people who register. You’ll get a free Coppell Fa La La La Lights sign to proudly post in front of your display.

Look for a virtual map with the locations of all registered participants when it goes live in early December. So grab the kiddos, bundle up, and walk or drive around the neighborhood to see the sights and share in the festivities. Everyone in the family can cast a vote for their favorite display. Hosts will announce the winners in categories like:

  • Buddy the Elf Holiday Cheer Award.
  • Clark Griswold Award.
  • Cindy Lou Who Citizen’s Choice Award.

Zestfest

If you love spicy food, you have to cut loose at Zestfest! This world-class foodie event features everything you want in a culinary festival, from live music to celebrity chef demonstrations from the likes of John Hard and Stefon Rishel.

The Irving Convention Center on West Las Colinas Boulevard hosts Zestfest each June to the delight of thousands of residents who relish the hotter things in life. Tickets usually run under $20 and are available online. There are many ways for families to indulge in a fiery food experience at this unique festival, such as:

  • Enter the “puckerbutt” jalapeno eating contest.

Independence Day Party in the Park

Flaunt your patriotic enthusiasm and join fellow Coppell families for Party in the Park. This event takes place every Independence Day weekend at Andrew Brown Park East on East Parkway Boulevard. There will be music, food, and fireworks for everyone to enjoy.

The city follows up Party in the Park with an Independence Day-themed parade. Dress your kiddos up in red, white, and blue and follow the route along Parkway Boulevard. Organizers post exact times and dates on the Coppell city website before the event.

Register for the City of Coppell’s annual Virtual Job Fair, whether you’re entering the workforce or you’re on the lookout for a new career.
