Alpharetta Arts Streetfest

Whether you have a budding artist in your brood or you just want a fun way to spend a day as a family, you’ll want to add the annual Alpharetta Arts Streetfest to your calendar. The festival, which takes place in May, lets you stroll around the outdoor gallery while taking in the art. Kiddos will love getting to meet their new favorite artist, and you can even buy original art to take home with you.

Alpharetta Farmers Market

Start your weekends stocking up on delicious, wholesome treats at the Alpharetta Farmers Market. Typically open on Saturday mornings from July through October, the Alpharetta Farmers Market also hosts a Christmas market on Saturdays in December. This is the place to go for a variety of food vendors offering cheese, baked goods, grass-fed meats, produce, and more. Get some herbs and fresh flowers to complete the picture, and bring home homemade jellies, sauces, and local raw honey to complement your meals.

Brooke Street Park Summer Concert Series

Enjoy family-friendly music outdoors on select Saturdays in September. The concert series in Brooke Street Park takes place on the East Lawn behind City Hall. Bring a blanket and lawn chairs along with a picnic dinner, then settle in for music and fun for the whole family. These concerts are totally free, too!

European Market

Take the family on a trip without ever leaving Alpharetta when you visit the European Market in downtown Alpharetta in September. The market features vintage home furnishings along with art, decor, handmade jewelry, and artisan foods. The event is held in a large tent, creating an intimate and vibrant atmosphere sure to delight the kids as you explore.

July 4th at Wills Park

Celebrate the Fourth of July right here in Alpharetta at this exciting annual event. Enjoy the live entertainment and grab an outdoor meal with family and friends before watching the fireworks that mark the occasion. Independence Day at Wills Park is a blast for kids and kids at heart alike. Along with children’s activities, the event includes food trucks and other vendors serving up festive foods. The spectacular fireworks display starts at dusk.

Scarecrow Harvest

Fall spirit is on full display every October thanks to Alpharetta’s annual Scarecrow Harvest. Hundreds of scarecrows adorn downtown Alpharetta as part of this local tradition.

Season of Celebration

Alpharetta helps locals get into the holiday spirit each year with the Season of Celebration event. Downtown Alpharetta plays host to many attractions such as musical performances, pictures with Santa, a tree lighting, holiday market, and even falling snow. Roast marshmallows after a meal from a local restaurant or food truck, and let the kids have fun with face painting, balloon arts, and other free children’s crafts. You can even get your holiday shopping done at this event, then get those presents wrapped up at the complimentary gift-wrapping station before you go.

Taste of Alpharetta

Head over to downtown Alpharetta each May to experience the Taste of Alpharetta event. Alpharetta’s largest annual event typically draws in crowds of more than 40,000 people, and it’s easy to see why this event is so popular once you experience it for yourself.

You’ll get to sample treats from more than 60 of Alpharetta’s best restaurants in one night. The event offers free admission (you’ll purchase food tickets once you’re there) and fun for the whole family. Activities for all ages, plenty of entertainment and culinary demonstrations, and of course, delicious food make Taste of Alpharetta a must-visit event on your yearly list.

Touch-A-Truck

Spark your kids’ imaginations in September with a visit to Alpharetta’s annual Touch-A-Truck event. Kids will love interacting with all sorts of vehicles, including fire trucks, school buses, dump trucks, and more. The event is free to enter, and it also includes interactive games, bouncy inflatables, and opportunities like balloon animals and face painting sure to keep any kid entertained. You can also grab food from vendors while you’re here.

Wire & Wood Alpharetta Music Festival

Enjoy original music from local, regional, and national singer-songwriters at the Wire & Wood Alpharetta Music Festival. This beloved music festival takes place every year on a weekend in October throughout downtown Alpharetta. The free, family-friendly event is sure to inspire musical kids as they listen to beautiful melodies and vocals while learning the stories behind the songs.

From country to rock to blues and beyond, there’s something for everyone here. You can get food and drinks starting at 4 p.m. and then enjoy a range of artist stages between 5 and 10 p.m. on the Friday and Saturday of the event.
