Stone Mountain Park is a wonderful place to bring the family for a variety of outdoor activities. This 3,200-acre park has stunning views as well as family-friendly attractions such as a mini-golf course, a museum, a thrilling tram you can ride, and a 5-mile train excursion. There’s also plenty of open space where you can enjoy fresh air and sunshine and over 15 miles of hiking trails to explore.

Walking up the 1-mile trail to the summit of Stone Mountain is one of the highlights of the park. Once you reach the top of this interestingly shaped dome mountain, you’ll have sweeping views of the surrounding area, including diverse forests and the 363-acre lake situated inside Stone Mountain Park. History buffs will enjoy seeing and learning more about the scenic Grist Mill, and those who love clear and pure audio will feel inspired when they hear Mabel Sharp play the 732-bell Carillon.

After a busy day of having fun at Stone Mountain Park, bring a picnic with you and cross the Washington W. King Bridge to an island located in the lake. Sit back, listen to the birds sing, and enjoy your meal in a beautiful setting. If you’d like to stay for a few nights to further enjoy the area, you and your family can sleep under the stars, in a tent, or in your RV at Stone Mountain Park Campground.
