Craving a burger and fries? Your local Hat Creek Burgers is definitely the place to go. This Texas chain restaurant has a location right here in Coppell, right off of Highway 121. If you’ve lived in Texas a while, you probably know just how good their burgers, chicken flashers, and milkshakes are. This restaurant also serves up a mean breakfast, with menu items like pancakes, breakfast tacos, and classic egg, breakfast meat, and toast platters. For lunch and dinner, you can order any of their “hats” or even a made-to-order salad. You can even order vegetarian and vegan options, too.

What makes the Coppell location so great for kids is the on-site playground. That’s right, your kids don’t have to sit at the table fidgeting with crayons. They can run around, climb, and slide until it’s time to eat. Plus, you get a great view of the playground and TVs when you sit outside. Mac&Z Play Cafe

Mac&Z Play Cafe isn’t your typical restaurant. In fact, it’s more of an indoor playground that happens to have a cafe that serves up kid-friendly dishes. Your kids are sure to love snacking on mac ‘n’ cheese, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, and pizza, all of which are served with your child’s favorite juice. Parents can order sandwiches, charcuterie, and salads as well as fuel up with anything off the coffee and tea menu, including lattes, cappuccinos, cold brews, and frappes. The Biscuit Bar

If you’re looking for Southern comfort food at its finest, then you’ve found the place at The Biscuit Bar. This local, family-owned chain has half a dozen locations, including one right here in Coppell.

You can come here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ordering any kind of biscuit on the menu. So, have a sausage biscuit at 3 p.m. or a Buffalo Bleu Chicken Biscuit at 10 a.m. if you want. This restaurant also has delicious salads, stacked tater tots, and delectable desserts. Kids 12 and under can grab some favorites like chicken nuggets or a kid-sized eggs and biscuit platter and get a scoop of sherbet for dessert. Or, let your kids experiment a bit by ordering one of the unique biscuit meals off the “big kid” menu.

Big Daddy’s Ship Store

In nearby Grapevine, you’ll find Big Daddy’s Ship Store, a fantastic restaurant perfect for a family meal. The menu is overflowing with delicious bar snacks, sandwiches, salads, fantastically fresh seafood dishes, and some of the best breakfasts you’ll ever have. Plus, the outdoor seating area is right up against the water at Grapevine Lake, so your kids will love watching the ducks and turtles swim by while they wait for their food. And you can stop here after spending the day out on the water or venturing around Oak Grove, Rockledge, or Lakeview Parks.

Start with the fried pickles, wings, or fried Gouda bites. If you’re feeling something on the healthier side, order the Southwestern salad with your choice of chicken or shrimp. If you’re craving a burger or sandwich, you’ve got to try the Muenster bacon burger or the chicken, bacon, and avocado sandwich.
