Denton Tap Road Suite 240 and is open Sunday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. It’s a vegetarian-friendly restaurant and also includes vegan and gluten-free options on its menu. If you and your children love Tex-Mex food like quesadillas, enchiladas, nachos, tamales, and flautas, this is the place to go. You can try the guacamole en molcajete, which is made using avocado, cilantro, onion, tomato, and jalapeno, and the quesadillas that are served with cheese, spinach, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. There are also tacos consisting of tortilla shells filled with cheese, avocado, tomato, and tortilla strips.

Visit the Black Walnut Cafe at 775 N. Denton Tap Road between 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offers American and contemporary cuisine that includes vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The menu consists of starters, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, pasta, and more. Try the creamy tomato basil soup, the spinach and artichoke dip, and the BWC queso.

Kumar’s is an Indian restaurant situated at 820 S. MacArthur Blvd. Suite 100. It serves authentic South Indian food for lunch and dinner, and you will find many vegetarian options on the menu. You can get a veg thali served on a banana leaf for lunch. The veg thali consists of rice, sambar, rasam, kaara kuzhambu, and three vegetable sides. Other items you can order at Kumar’s Indian Food are kaara kolambu (okra or eggplant in a tangy curry), poriyal (vegetables stir-fried with spices), kootu (vegetables in a dal curry), and arisi vadagam (rice crisps with onions). You can also order yogurt, buttermilk, dosa, uttapam, parotta, chappathi, idly, papadum, pickle, and classic South Indian desserts.

MacArthur Blvd. Suite 112, Beijing Brothers is a popular Chinese restaurant that serves a range of Chinese regional cuisine, has vegetarian-friendly options, and changes its menu seasonally. Some of the food items to try when you visit are steamed wontons with red chili oil, wonton soup, vegetable dumplings, scallion pancakes, and traditional hand-pulled noodles.

You can visit the restaurant Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Tuesday to Sunday between 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. It’s closed on Mondays.

6. Spiral Diner & Bakery

To enjoy some good vegan comfort food, head to 608 E. Hickory St. in nearby Denton to the diner-inspired Spiral Diner. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Coppell and a favorite food destination for many Coppell residents.
