It can be hard to find fun things to do when it feels like every little thing costs money. The good news is that Cedar Park actually has plenty of appealing activities that are no cost to you, which means that you can enjoy your time out and about without worrying about burning a hole in your wallet. Check out these seven free things to do in Cedar Park, Texas, that are perfect for the whole family.

Explore the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden

If you walk the trail at the Cedar Park Recreation Center, you’ll be able to see an amazing showcase of different sculptures by local artists at the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden. The garden accepts work from all ranges of expertise, including professionals, amateurs, and even students. Artists can submit work through the garden’s yearly open call.

The best thing about the sculpture garden is that the art changes out every year, so there is always something new to see. The sculptures’ media ranges from aluminum and steel to Texas limestone. If one piece really catches your eye, you may be in luck. Most of the art displayed in the garden is on loan from the artists and available for sale.

The Texas Farmers’ Market is held weekly on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine. You can find locally grown produce as well as local honey, baked goods, and home-brewed drinks like kombucha. There is usually family entertainment, which ranges from live music to clowns. While entrance is free at the farmers’ market, you’ll probably have a hard time not spending money on all of the amazing food and fun.

Spend a Day at Elizabeth Milburn Park

Elizabeth Milburn Park is another great place that has something for everyone to do. This 42.4-acre park has multiple playgrounds, a public pool, playing fields, a sand volleyball court, a rock climbing wall, paths for hiking and biking, and more.

The park hosts free events throughout the year, so don’t miss out on movies in the park, live concerts, and BBQ cook-offs. Seasonal events include fireworks for the Fourth of July, an Easter egg hunt, a Veterans’ Day parade, Christmas tree lighting, a Santa workshop, and more.

Get Active at Brushy Creek Sports Park

If you’re ready to have fun and get active, be sure to stop by Brushy Creek Sports Park. Play a game of baseball or soccer with your friends or family, or try out the nine-hole disc golf course. No matter what you decide to do, you’re sure to have a good time.

If you’re a skater, you’ll also love Brushy Creek. There’s a 15,000-square-foot skate park where you can brush up on your skills, whether you’re new to skating or you’re already a pro. Make a day out of the park and take advantage of other amenities like public restrooms, water fountains, and a playground/obstacle course. It’s a great place to burn off some energy and enjoy the open air.

Traverse the Brushy Creek Trail

At the back of the Brushy Creek Sports Park, you’ll find the Brushy Creek Trail, which is an adventure of its own. A number of other parks and destinations lie along this trail, including Brushy Creek Lake Park, Champion Park, Cedar Park, and Round Rock. You can walk, run, or bike the trails, and you can stop by one of the six parks along the way.

Champion Park, in particular, is a great place to bring children. It features a covered play area where kids can climb dinosaur structures and dig for dinosaur bones. There’s also a splash pad that they can use Friday through Sunday during the summer when it’s hot.

Another great park to check out is Brushy Creek Lake Park. Brushy Creek has many amenities that make it great for the whole family, including a splash pad, a shaded playground area, pavilions with picnic tables, and a sand volleyball court, all overlooking the beautiful Brushy Creek Lake. Hang out on the beach and relax, or rent canoes and have some fun in the water.
