Cobb Children’s Theatre

The Cobb Children’s Theatre is a nonprofit, all-volunteer theater company that has held 55 productions of such classics as “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” “West Side Story,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Oliver,” “Brigadoon,” and “The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.” Cobb Children’s Theatre has had nine adult theater division productions, eleven Storytime productions, and numerous touring productions. With shows sure to please kids and adults alike, the Cobb Children’s Theatre is a company for the whole family to enjoy.

Atlanta Lyric Theatre

The Atlanta Lyric Theatre specializes in musical theater with the distinction of being Atlanta’s only local professional musical theater company. They began as a repertory theater company dedicated to presenting the works of Gilbert and Sullivan. Atlanta Lyric Theatre has produced classic musical productions such as “The Mikado.” They collaborate with other theater troupes to put on performances at their theater and create their own holiday musical theater productions. In short, they have a little bit of everything sure to please lovers of musical theater.

Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre

The Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre was founded in 1956 and is one of the area’s oldest nonprofit art organizations. They provide dance training and put on productions of classical ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary dance. They make their home in the Georgia Dance Conservatory on the historic Marietta Square and put on classics such as “The Nutcracker” and “Peter Pan” as well as new works by student choreographers.

CenterStage North

Centerstage North is a community theater in Cobb County formed by local actors wanting to create a showcase for their talents. It has the honor of being the longest-running community theater in Cobb County. The actors and actresses continue to perform well-known plays and musicals throughout the year at CenterStage North.

Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre 

The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is where you can see national and local acts, such as rock bands, jazz ensembles, ballet, magicians, and comedians. It’s a big indoor stadium venue attracting acts such as Fleetwood Mac and Jim Gaffigan. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is your spot to catch national touring artists and the Atlanta Ballet.

Strand Theatre

Head to the Earl Smith Strand Theatre for an array of entertainment in the historic Marietta square. They host traveling and local bands as well as special movie nights. You can take in special events such as The Phantom Of The Opera (1925) Silent Film with Live Organ Accompaniment. The Strand Theatre also features shows with tribute bands and performances by original artists.

Woodstock Arts Theatre

Woodstock Arts is located on a 4-acre property and green space near Marietta, where they hold outdoor concerts, visual arts exhibits, performing arts productions, cultural events, classes, and camps. This multifaceted organization is also involved in culinary arts, visual arts, music, and dance. Woodstock Arts Theatre is the ideal spot to take in a wide variety of arts, innovative programming, and seasonal outdoor events.

City Springs

If you’re looking for a wide variety of theater and musical acts from local and national artists, check out City Springs. This musical theater attracts such artists as Michael Feinstein, Mandy Patinkin, and American Idol winner Phillip Phillips.

Marietta’s New Theatre in the Square

An intimate proscenium black box theater, Marietta’s Theatre In The Square is a theater that puts on plays and musicals with a mission to bring theater to Marietta and the surrounding greater Atlanta area. They focus on inclusive theater, including Ethnic American stories like “West Side Story” and “In The Heights.” They also stage musicals like “The Little Shop Of Horrors.”

Act3 Productions

Act3 Productions‘ motto is to “enrich, inspire, entertain.” Act3 Productions stages an entire repertoire of dramas, musicals, improvisation, and original productions with professional and amateur actors. They also aim to expose young people to many aspects of theater productions, including drama, dance, music, visual arts, and technical production, including participating on stage or learning behind the scenes.

Actors Express

Atlanta’s destination for fearless theater is Actor’s Express, an intimate space where every seat in the house brings you close to the action on stage. They put on plays, musicals, and concerts and offer digital content. They mainly focus on cult classic theater, such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre and Conservatory

Georgia Ensemble Theatre focuses on producing plays and offers acting classes for people of all ages. They also have travel teams, which are opportunities for the Georgia Ensemble Theatre to perform at locations such as schools, community centers, or any site that serves gatherings of people. This multifaceted organization has something for everyone. They also rent space for artistic endeavors and events.
