Mudsock Youth Athletics

Children from the Fishers and the Hamilton Southeastern School district can participate in the Mudsock Youth Athletics organization, which offers recreational team sports in football, baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, field hockey, rugby, cheer, and track/cross country. They have twelve leagues that serve 10,000 kids in the local community. They help children develop character, learn leadership skills, and gain greater physical fitness. The organization is one of the largest nonprofits in Indiana and is run by a group of committed volunteers. Their programs run year-round, so there’s always an opportunity for your kids to play sports locally.

Roy G. Holland Memorial Park

For a public park with sports facilities, plan an outing to Roy G. Holland Memorial Park at 1 Park Drive. You’ll find a basketball court, a baseball/softball diamond, a sand volleyball court, and a soccer field. Multi-use trails are available for walking, running, hiking, and biking. There’s a playground for older children to run around and play and a separate toddler playground so the little ones can get in on the action too. There’s also a seasonal splash pad and slide-down inflatable water slides open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Fishers YMCA

A world of youth sports, aquatics, gym facilities, and classes is available at Fishers YMCA, 9012 E. 126th St. They offer youth programs in basketball, track & field, martial arts, soccer, dance, T-Ball, cheer, tumbling, and more.

YMCA youth sports programs help kids build physical, social, and emotional skills. All their programs encourage participation, sportsmanship, and fun. Team sports also help introduce children to healthy competition, spurring them to be their best. YMCA youth sports programs involve the families of young people as well, ensuring that parents and coaches are part of the experience for the children.

In addition to the other sports programs and activities at the YMCA, there are also pools for swimming; whether your child is learning to swim or an experienced swimmer, swim classes and swim teams are available. Their aquatic facilities include an indoor program pool with zero-depth entry, an indoor 25-yard fitness pool with swim lanes, an indoor whirlpool, and two outdoor pools, including a splash pad and kids’ pool. Parent and child classes for younger children, classes for older children, and private lessons are available.

There are three gymnasiums:

  • A family gym.
  • Two multi-function group exercise and dance studios.
  • A small group training studio.

The Cycle studio is staffed by SPINPower certified instructors with Precor Spinner, Chrono Power bikes, and 25 classes a week, including Les Mills RPM classes. The Fishers YMCA also has a prime-time family area with computers, air hockey, and an indoor playground. Their wellness center with cardio, Freemotion, and Cybex strength machines, free weights, a functional fitness area, and a full e-Gym strength circuit gives your kids awesome sports training facilities.

Billericay Park

For a 44-acre park with ample sports facilities, take the kids to Billericay Park – Fishers, located at 12690 Promise Road. The park has eight lighted, regulation baseball/softball diamonds, athletic fields, three playground areas, and 1.75 miles of nature and multi-use trails. They have a ballpark that hosts seasonal and tournament play, with a full concession stand to get you into the ballgame spirit. A free splash pad is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, so you and the kids can cool off after a game.

Indy Hoops Academy

If your kids are interested in basketball, Indy Hoops Academy is the place to be. Located at Best Choice Fieldhouse, 11825 Technology Drive, they have various teams, including special AAU teams, which are part of the state’s top Adidas program, the Indiana Elite. These AAU teams are for children from third grade to high school. There’s also the Indy Hoops Developmental League (IHDL), designed for children from CYO/Private schools to supplement their school experience. The academy also offers individualized private small-group training and basketball skills camps.

First Tee

For programs centered around youth golfing, check out First Tee. This youth development organization integrates learning the game of golf into a curriculum of life skills to help build your child’s character. By combining these two pursuits seamlessly, First Tee helps your child build self-confidence, inner strength, and resilience through active learning experiences. The skills built through this program are valuable assets children can carry into other life pursuits. First Tee incorporates nine core values: sportsmanship, confidence, respect, responsibility, courtesy, integrity, honesty, judgment, and perseverance. Fishers Sports Academy

For training in baseball and softball, take your kids to Fishers Sports Academy, located at 12910 Ford Drive. This community-based academy is housed in an ample 14,000 square foot facility. They provide professional instruction in all their programs. They have team training, specialized clinics, batting cage memberships, and more. Fishers Sports Academy includes training programs and team practice to serve individuals and teams. Their programs, training, and practice sessions encourage students, helping to build your child’s confidence and giving them a competitive edge as a player.

Fishers Elite Martial Arts

For training in various martial arts disciplines, your kids will love Fishers Elite Martial Arts, located at 13029 Parkside Drive. They offer kids’ classes in Taekwondo, a popular martial art that teaches form, technique, and self-discipline and helps build your child’s self-confidence. There are also fun kid’s classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a martial arts form that provides comprehensive fitness and agility skills and builds a foundation for a future mixed martial arts practice.
