The sun helps the rocks glow a vibrant red by bringing out their natural hue and the location is a great spot to observe and marvel at the stars in the natural Las Vegas night sky. Situated in the Mojave Desert, the red sandstone peaks make for a breathtaking background for a family photo or even your next social media profile picture.
While you’re there, check out the petroglyph wall. Just take an easy hike, less than half a mile, to a cliff-side that has historical rock art at least 800 years old. Take a picnic basket and enjoy an afternoon meal with the family at the Willow Springs Picnic Area, where the trail leading to the petroglyph wall begins.
Just 17 miles from the Las Vegas strip, this is an easy-to-get-to destination when you need to get away and reconnect with nature and the family. Go on a hike with the kids, catalog some of the interesting plants, take photos of the native wildlife, marvel at the interesting formations, or set up a campsite. Daily entry passes and timed reservations are available online. You can also secure yearly passes. Daily passes per vehicle begin at $20, while bicyclists pay $8 and pedestrians pay $5. Yearly passes range from $50 to $80.

Lost Worlds Myth and Magic Indoor Playground
The Lost Worlds Myth and Magic Indoor Playground is 30,000 square feet of adventures for the whole family. Located in Henderson, this is the only indoor-themed play-place in Nevada. Some attractions the family can take part in include a fast and competitive game of laser tag. This multi-level laser tag arena is a phenomenal way to burn off that extra energy. The great thing is even kids under 7 years can play with adult supervision. A single game of laser tag is only $9. Another option for energetic kids is is the Wizard’s Glowing Cauldron Ball Pit.
Other fun activities range from a giant donut slide and mini-bowling to a castle climbing wall and a ballistic arena. We suggest you get the Unlimited VIP package to participate in all the attractions. A one-hour pass is only $17, a three-hour pass is $21, and an all-day pass is only $26. The VIP Package excludes mini-bowling and the arcade. Be ready to purchase some Lost World Safety Socks for $3.95 a pair, as they are required for most attractions.

Uptown Jungle Fun Park
Also located in Henderson is Uptown Jungle Fun Park. A place where the motto is “wearing kids out” is sure to help parents let the hyperactive energy wear down so the rest of the day can be easy and the kids sleep well at night. This indoor trampoline park has a spider tower, super slides, trampolines, an obstacle course, a ninja course, a mini-zipline, a ball blaster arena, and climbing walls.
At Uptown Jungle Fun Park there are a few things to know before you go. Make sure you have grip socks and that you have signed your waiver online ahead of time. this will ensure a quicker check-in. Any children wanting to use the rock walls must be over 22 pounds. There is free Wi-Fi, an adult lounge where parents can relax, and affordable food and beverages in case the family gets hungry.
On Monday through Friday, a 90-minute session is only $13.50 per participant and a 120-minute session is $15.75. Weekend prices go up a bit with a 90-minute session being $18.50 and a 120-minute session at $21.75. Parents get to play for half price but can enter for free if they don’t wish to participate.
