Although Las Vegas is famous for its gambling, shopping, nightlife, and entertainment, there are also many terrific places to visit with your kids if you live in the area. In case you’re not sure what to do with the family this coming weekend, let Crème de la Crème in Las Vegas, NV share some of our favorite spots to inspire your next outing.

Neon Museum

The Neon Museum is an ideal place to learn the history of casinos in Las Vegas. Visitors can experience the nostalgia and magic of vintage neon signs from old establishments over the decades. This family-friendly attraction sits on a two-acre campus comprising over 200 marquees and vintage signs that date back to the Vegas glory years. Some exhibits show the work of the renowned architect Paul Revere Williams.

Featured signs in their Main Collection include famous old casino marquees like the Sahara and Stardust, while the North Gallery holds unrestored signs from old establishments like Lady Luck and the Horseshoe. They also have restored other iconic Las Vegas signs and installed them throughout the city as public art to be viewed by everyone.

You can visit the museum during the day or night. The night tours are definitely special because the museum lights up their restored signs in all their neon glory. Due to the fact that there will be some rusty metal and broken glass, the museum recommends visitors during the daytime be 10 years or older and that night tours should be for folks ages 12 and up.

Shark Reef Aquarium

Shark Reef Aquarium is a family-friendly facility at Mandalay Bay. It’s the only animal care center in the state of Nevada that is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The aquarium has 14 exhibits dedicated to aquatic animals. In this facility, you’ll encounter over 2,000 animals, including 15 different sharks, jellyfish, rare golden crocodiles, endangered sea turtles, komodo dragons, and piranhas.

If you and the family are SCUBA certified, then you can take advantage of the aquarium’s Dive With the Sharks program. It’s available only to people 18 and up, but each diver can bring up to four guests to watch the experience with their own behind-the-scenes guided tour. You can hang out underwater with sandtiger sharks, zebra sharks, and more.

Discovery Children’s Museum

The Discovery Children’s Museum is yet another Vegas attraction you can visit with your entire family. This three-story destination has nine themed halls that focus on hands-on interactive exhibits. You can visit Eco-City that serves as a replica of the Hoover Dam. You’ll also encounter Young at Art, which is an interactive gallery featuring inspirations by Dr. Seuss. There’s Water World to explore the power and movement of water, and there’s Patents Pending, where kids can try design and engineering challenges to exercise their brains. They also have a Toddler Town dedicated to kids aged 5 and below.

There are amazing programs for all kids to learn new things. Some top programs that your kids can attend include the Intergenerational Interludes music program, where participants get a bag of instruments to borrow and play at home in a virtual classroom, or Science Is Everywhere celebrations where kids can get hands-on by building batteries, designing clouds in a bottle, and more.

The Adventuredome

The Adventuredome is an all-indoor attraction at Circus Circus that covers five acres of thrill rides and more, all hosted inside a glass dome. This site is the largest indoor theme park in America and, because it’s all indoors, you can visit any time of year.

They have rides for folks of every age, from carousels for the littlest ones, bumper cars for the older kids, and roller coasters for the more adventurous. They also feature an 18-hole miniature golf course, arcade, laser challenges, and a VR room.

And, because it’s Circus Circus, you get to see free clown shows and other circus acts flying through the air above you.

High Roller Observation Wheel

The High Roller Observation Wheel is among the world’s tallest observation wheels. It’s 550 feet tall and located at the LINQ Hotel. You can take a 30-minute leisurely ride on this wheel as it slowly turns to allow you a spectacular 360-degree view of the Strip and the mountains beyond in your spherical glass cabin.

Each cabin cab fit up to 10 people, so you can bring your family and some friends for a great time together. Near the Observation Wheel, you can find top-notch bars, restaurants, and dining spots to pick your favorite meal and enjoy it while on the wheel. Schedule for a happy hour or VIP cabin and enjoy cool music or even muted cabins if you want a more serene ride.

Lion Habitat Ranch

Located just outside of the city, the Lion Habitat Ranch has existed since the mid-1970s as a general sanctuary, but it was opened to the public in 2012. It’s in an 8.5-acre piece of land that allows nature enthusiasts to get a close-up view of top wildlife in the savanna. Some animals you can expect to see on the ranch include over 40 lions, emus, ostriches, and baby giraffes. Trained staff take care of the animals and provide a portion of your donation to help rescue wildlife.

The ranch offers three different tours:

  • Behind the Scenes takes you around the ranch to learn how it all works.
  • Feed the Animals lets you feed either a giraffe or a lion by hand.
  • Feast With the Beasts lets you have a private party at a dining table inside the lions’ den — enclosed in glass for your safety, of course.
